Arcanis the Roleplaying Game Available for Preorder

Hello,

This book looks amazing.

Thank you very much! We tried very hard to give the layout of the book an edgy look while at the same time making it easy to read and access information quickly.

I assume that you pre-ordered the book and received the PDF? We're putting together a small preview of the book so that those who have not pre--ordered (the only way at the moment to get a Free watermarked PDF) can see what the interior of the book looks like.

What are your plans for supplements?

We have quite a robust line planned:

Along with the Core Arcanis the RPG book, we're releasing a small magic item book called Forged in Magic as well as a Bestiary with a sampling of the more common creatures used in adventures as well as a look at those monsters unique to Arcanis, such as the Voei, the Il'Huan, the many tribes of the Gar, and of course, our signature monster: The Voiceless Ones - servitors of the Silence.

Beyond that we have planned a couple of adventures (the one I am writing is entitled 'The Lost Temple of Crimson Shadows'.

We're also working on the Codex of Heroes, a fully updated and expanded Codex Arcanis as well as some other goodies I can't go into at the moment yet because the details are not fully fleshed out as yet.

Of course, we also have the Chronicles of the Shattered Empires Campaign where you can download free adventures set in Arcanis. The current two year arc (whose first year ends at Origins 2011) is entitled Crusade! and features the valiant efforts of the King of Milandir to stem the tide of an impending attack by the Infernal Hordes.

Thanks again for your patronage and let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello Everyone,

Just a reminder that the deadline for Pre-ordering the Arcanis: World of the Shattered Empires RPG and receive a FREE watermarked PDF is fast approaching.

June 1st will be the last day that the offer is valid.

I should have a PDF Preview later today as I have been getting many questions about the layout of the book, whether it's in color, etc.

In the meantime, Blogger Josh Brown has posted this primer on Arcanis that may be of interest to those who are unfamiliar with the setting.

What's Next? - The Unemployed Geek: Legionnaires, Flintlocks, Intrigue and Dark Fantasy - a Profile on the World of Arcanis.

I've taken a look at the four adventures posted for Living Arcanis on the Paradigm website. Are these the only four to be released to date? Or are there more that just haven't been released for home play yet? How many adventures have been released in total?

Hello,

Those four have been released for Home play with an additional two being uploaded (hopefully) today or tomorrow.

There are three more premiering at Origins, and I believe another three that will be released during the summer months, but I'm not 100% sure on what day.

All in all, there should be more than a dozen adventures available for Home Play between now and the end of Summer (August - September).

Hello everyone,

As promised, you can find a small preview of the Arcanis: World of the Shattered Empires Core Book here:
http://www.paradigmconcepts.com/product-support/PCI-1600-Preview.pdf

And please remember that the offer of receiving a FREE watermarked PDF with your pre-order of the book expires on June 1st, so you only have a few more days to take advantage of that offer.

Also, my thanks to all those who have pre-ordered the book: Thank you for your patronage and you continued support!

Henry, in the preview on p. 378 (p.9) the spell Deep Lord's Trident refer to "Magic Items, Forged in Magic". Since there's no page reference (and there's one just a few words before, referring to the description of a trident, I'm starting to fear that a spell in the core book requires a supplement to fully use?

Please tell me it ain't so.

Sorry, I can't.

Originally the section on Runes was part of the Core book, but the Core Book became such a large manuscript that things had to be cut and that section was one of them.

The Forged in Magic Supplement is a small book that will be released at the same time as the Core Book (it's a 32 page product) and includes the Runes section among other things.

While we gnashed our teeth about this, we finally concluded that we had no choice due to page count constraints. There has been precedent on this sort of thing occurring in other products, however, such as 3.X/Pathfinder, i.e. anyone using the Summoning Spell, etc would need the use of the Monster Manual for the creature's stats and abilities. Now, that doesn't mean its the best option, but the reality of economics demanded something be chopped and that was it.

And now you know, the rest of the story...;-)

Hmmm.... well, okay. MAybe offer the information for free on your website (or pasword protected, password being something only someone with the core book can answer)?

Good morning,

That's the plan - however, we won't be doing that until the book is actually available. Remember it won't even be out until Origins for those who Pre-Ordered or are attending that Con. The book has a street date of late in July.
