MIAMI - Paradigm Concept’s sales of its Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires campaign line and attendance for Living Arcanis events enjoyed all-time highs for the summer convention season, bucking the flat trend in the RPG market.
At GenCon Indy, the company record for exhibit sales was shattered due to the release of the “Player’s Guide to Arcanis”, “Ssethregore: In the Coils of the Serpent Empire”, and ‘Nishanpur: the City of Secrets.” The company sold out of the 300 advance copies of “The Player’s Guide to Arcanis”, the must-have guide to playing a character from Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires, provided for the show and the other new releases sold more than a hundred copies apiece. Several Paradigm Concepts titles, such as “Codex Arcanis”, “Eldest Sons: the Essential Guide to Elves”, and “Lords of the Peaks: the Essential Guide to Giants” also sold out.
Living Arcanis RPGA events were well attended, selling more than 600 tickets and the Living Arcanis battle interactive “How the Mighty Have Fallen” drew 184 participants and raised in excess of $2000 for victims of Hurricane Charlie. According to the GenCon Indy program and online event registration, “How the Mighty Have Fallen” was the largest roleplaying event at the show.
At Origins, Paradigm’s Living Arcanis events run through the RPGA drew large numbers and the Living Arcanis live action roleplaying interactive “The Convocation of the Divine” drew 163 players making a Living Arcanis event the largest roleplaying event at Origins for the second consecutive year.
“Living Arcanis is all the rage in the land of Living d20 campaigns,” said GenCon Gaming Mogul and CEO Peter Adkison, “So many gamers have raved about it I just had to stop by their booth this year and check it out.”
"For two years, Paradigm Concepts' has hosted the most attended roleplaying events at our show," said GAMA Program Manager Mark Santillo, "More than 160 players participated in the Living Arcanis Interactive in 2004 and more than 120 in 2003. Origins fully support Living Arcanis interactives at our show, and we expect to see events that are even bigger and better from Paradigm Concepts in 2005."
“We sold a half-ton of Arcanis books,” said Paradigm Vice President Nelson Rodriguez, “We try to give the players what they want and it is heartening to see that effort rewarded.”
