Arch of Lightning

When using Arch of Lightning (page 15 in Spell Compendium), do the targeted creatures have to be alive? Or does the spell also work when 1 or both creatures are dead?

For spell targeting purposes, a dead body is generally considered an object, so if a spell specifies a creature, a corpse would not normally be a valid target.

Sure. You can also target an ally and an enemy if you really want some friend of yours to take one for the team

I got a flesh golem in the party and I target it and the bad guy with this spell.
Works great.
And no SR?
What's up with that?
Lightning bolt, chain lightning have SR, but Arc of Lightning no?
Weird.
