D&D 5E Archdruid of moon - 90 free HP per round?

Uh, not in my copy of the PHB it doesn't. :erm: Sure you're not thinking of an earlier version?

And if you get worn down to 0 each time, some of that damage will carry over to human. It'll take a while, but you can lose by attrition.
Top of page 68: "Additionally, you can ignore verbal and somatic components of your druid spells, as well as any material components that lack a cost and aren't consumed by a spell". So, the wildshape pretty much counts as its own druidic focus.

I am sure druid spells have verbal and somatic components too. I doubt an air elemental can speak or has hands.

By 20th level though, a druid ignores verbal and somatic components as well as non-costly material components...which extends to both normal shape and wild shape. It's all a part of the 20th level class feature Archdruid.

Edit: Totally ninja'd by TwoSix!

Wow. Okay, I'm blind. I totally missed that. :o

However...

It specifies beast shape. Whereas other features specify any shape. Says to me that it doesn't work when you're an elemental.

I do agree with you that it does say that. As a counterpoint, though, look how many times "beast shape" is mentioned within the Wildshape description. If you assume that any use of the phrase "beast shape" doesn't apply to an elemental shape, then elemental wild shape becomes essentially unusable, as there aren't any rules for it!

I don't think there's going to be an arcane rules reading to fix the issue, I think it's simply going to need a house rule. I'd say up front that the unlimited wild shape doesn't apply to elemental shape, only to beast shapes.

Depending on the DM, I honestly don't see why an elemental form could not be included, that might just be me though.

Excuse me, that's "Monk of the way of Shadow". :)

I bow to your superior Monk of the Way of Shadowyness!

Well, on the one hand, it does make me wonder why they sometimes specify "any" shape you assume, and other times don't.

On the other, you're not wrong that it's a pretty arcane reading. I was mostly trying to save face after my episode of carelessness-induced illiteracy. ;)

No worries, the cut off on the Archdruid ability after one sentence and how it jumps to the next page is formatted quite ... oddly.

I'd definitely enforce the beast shape rules. It seems like since they explicitly called out elementals they wouldn't be under the purview of a beast.

If I could ever get a game to 20th it could worry me! But even then, 20th level, roll out the crazy! Say goodbye to Gods and Tarrasques 20th level PCs are here ;)

But yeah not ideal, although the PHB hasn't made it to the southern hemisphere yet so I can;t read it myself!
