Sidenote: get Reactive Counterspelling to avoid having to ready to counterspell. It costs two feats (you need to get Improved Counterspelling too) but makes counterspelling actually a valid tactic.
In my experience, readying a counterspell most of the time is inferior to readying an attack to disrupt the casting. But then, most of my games haven't reached lvl 10+ yet....
