D&D 5E Are Apes Gorillas or Chimpanzees?

Option C: they are Ferunian mountain apes or whatever thing you want to create for your world.
Option D: they are any ape you need them to be at the time, describe them as chimps one encounter and then the following week they are Gorillas, use the same stats, the players wqont know the difference because they onbly see what you describe. If you think there should be some difference in stats then just add in the difference.

Gorillas and Chimps are both Medium creatures, and equally captured by the App stat.

Same goes for Gibbons and Orangutans, or any fantasy apes one might want.

The easiest way of to tell the difference between apes and monkeys is, monkeys have tails, apes don't.

Technically all apes are monkeys (In that the most recent common ancestor of all primates was a tailed monkey), its just that what we class as the apes are tailless

Which Kong? The kong from the most recent island was more akin to a kaiju/tarrasque than the giant ape. The kong from Peter Jackson's ... maybe.

I don't know. I was just trying to make up a joke about 3e having something for everything.

And concoct a flimsy excuse to link to this adorable video about filling different size boxes!

Not sure I should reward you for a link to a cat video, guess I'm just feeling generous today. :)

Oh, have we just found the topic we will disagree vehemently on? Is this thread gonna explode into 20 pages of me saying "cats are better than dogs because I like cats," while you reply "nuh uh, I like dogs."?
