why, what's wrong with their covers?
Oh I don't know. Maybe it is the scantily clad women on a majority of them, when it seems to have nothing to do with the contents. Yeah, I am pretty sure that is it. :)

Can you look past the cover, like I can look past your avatar's image, Dragongirl? ;)

I'm more interested in the content inside than the cover. It's not going to be lying around in the living room's coffee table ... alongside my swimsuit issue collection of Sports Illustrated. :p

What's wrong with that? Doesn't bother me!

It bothers me in the sense that I don't like being pandered to and I think it's harmful to the industry's image, but I'm not going to go at loggerheads with people over this one ... again.

Anyway, from what I've been told, the China one is good, the Norse one is poor, and the rest are average.

They redeemed themselves from the whole Hustler d20 image momentarily with their Celts sourcebook (had a tasteful green Celtic knot kinda thing goin' on) but slipped back into the realm of softcore porn again, now. Sigh.

Thing is, they have so many sourcebooks on things that interest me... Aztecs, Arabia... but I feel so... dirty picking one of those books up. Like its something that would better fit in among the magazines at Excitement Video across the street, lol.

Not trying to sell anything with my avatar. It is a combination of my actual picture with a dragon for my handle. Therefore it is relevent to who I am.

Well, I don't mind the scantily clad girls, even if I understand perfectly that many women can feel offended about them. But there is a thing I really dislike about their covers, what really bothers me it's the silliness of those scantly clad girls and their poses...

Let's begin with Doom Of Odin... Look at that girl. Not only the pose is ridiculous, but even the way she takes the bow is completly wrong... besides the fact that in that positions she has no balance, and she would fall on her butt...

or look to Jade and Steel, a sourcebook about Ancient Chine... with a pretty Western caucasian girl in the cover, with clothes that doesn't look Chinese. Or Endless Sands, with another Western looking caucasian girl for an Arabian book, dancing something that seems more techno than traditional Arabian dance...

And I could continue about the others, but I better don't.

They try to sell books about Historic RPG and use completly wrong pictures... If they selll historic supplements, they should use another kind of covers.
