are dice standardized? are they warpable?

The fact is that dice are not random phenomena to begin with: The side that a die will display when rolled is a combination of its physical properties, such as the aforementioned bias, its elasticity, the elasticity of the rolling surface, its linear velocity and angle of impact, its linear velocity, its orientation, and soforth. If all of these factors could be precisely measured and controlled, the result of the die roll will be predictable and nonrandom.

The fewer sides a die has, the easier it is to control: I personally find controlling a d10 to be challenging, d8 to be a bit tricky, a d6 to be simple, and controlling a d4 to be trivial. If you put ANY of these dice in my hands, you WILL see a statistical bias, and in the case of a d6 and under, a very quickly NOTICEABLE bias, simply because I can account and control sufficiently for these various factors to predict, and therefore control, the results.

If you REALLY want to try and get results out of the dice like this, you have to practice your throw.
