Absolutely yes they would be useful.

Especially when the review is being done from a contemporary standpoint. Some of the 3-4 year old books that were highly regarded at the time have not weathered the test of time as well as others. It would be nice to have a newer perspective on their longevity.

Well, I'm going to start with some personal favorites of some books that no one talks about. I think I'm going to go with more of the books that I relaly like then the ones I don't.

You say that like it's not a good thing. :)

I would much rather hear about the "good" products that are still worthwhile rather than the drek to avoid.

Well, it is a different thing, and its the thing I'm going to do. But I imagine that the books I'm reviewing and the books people wwould like to se reviewed might not be in the same grouping.

The first older book is from two years ago, Sacred Ground. Atlas put the book out and frankly I don't have a single book from Atlas that I've ever regreted purchasing. Usually they cover aresa that still aren't being covered and they did it with high wuality. Some of their rules might have been clumbsy but they had some creative writers. I wept the day they left d20.

I can't possibly keep up on RPG releases, so i'm often buying things that are fairly old. Also, for things that're marginal, i wait until i find them marked down or used. Finally, if there're multiple books on a topic, i often want to compare them. So if there aren't any reviews of the older product, i want those when the newer one shows up.

Now, all of this assumes we're talking about a review of something that either has no reviews online, or no good reviews. If there're already a couple reviews of a product, old or new, more reviews are less helpful than a review of something that isn't already reviewed.

That's true, but I imagine people are more limited by what they have then can go and find books with no reviews and easily review them.

Now were talking older d20 right? The answer is yes....however I would find reveiws of older adventures useful too....(you know from past editions)

I'd have to agree with those who say yes. There's plenty of older d20 books that I'm interested in, but simply don't know enough about to make an imformed decision. Some of them are sitting in the bargain bin of my FLGS.... :D

Then what you need to do is make a list of those books and ask the good people of EN World if they are any good and which you should buy.
