Are th 3.0 splats any good under 3.5?

Nope, aren't any good now, and weren't much use in 3.0 either. I got/still get far more use out of the Quintessential books than I ever did the 3.0 splats (or even the Complete books so far for 3.5). I know people complain about the Quint books being "broken", but I had FAR more game balance issues with the 3.0 splats than I did with the Quint books- to the point that I banned the 3.0 splats from my game. Now that the Complete series is coming out, I'm looking over them since they are rehashes of the 3.0 splats mostly- and I'm finding myself saying "meh- of little use to me". If you want better class books with more interesting and varied ideas, stick with FFGs Path of... books, or the Quintessential books.

With regard to the Q books, they can vary even more than the WotC books did. Some great, some abysmal. (See Quintessential Druid...)

However, their style might appeal to you more than the Wizards books (or those from other companies). So, browse a bit and see which looks better.

Cheers!

True MerricB, Quint Druid, Elf, and Dwarf were pretty bad, but others in the series (Fighter, Rogue, Wizard, Sorcerer, Paladin, Sorcerer, and Witch) are great books and wonderful additions to the game. The others in the Quint series are average, with some gems scattered through them in certain sections, but still of much higher quality than the WotC books IMO.

Interestingly, the three books my friend got were Rogue, Elf and Druid. With two bad books, that really makes Q seem worse than it might be. :)

Cheers!
