Thanks for the ideas so far, guys. The saw used to amputate was not magical, though, so if I apply the same principles, I suppose it is possible that the leg could be regrown. As to the cauterizing - the way I picture it, is that a healing spell can mend an open wound, but cauterizing a wound is essentially "closing" it. A healing spell won't cause a half-orc's nose ring to be ejected from his septum, etc.

The level 8 ritual "Remove Affliction", which will remove a single enduring effect that is afflicting the subject. Examples that they give are charm, domination, fear, insanity, polymorph, and petrification. The key skill is Healing. If it can turn stone back to flesh, then regrowing an arm or leg isn't all that much. it specifies that the "level of the effect" is treated as a negative to the die roll, but that could be cooked up easily enough again.

Or you could consider any effect that includes the "regeneration" keyword to be able to regrow a limb.
