this is the second one I will miss since me and the guys started going (2000) togather...

why? well I lost my job last year, like 6 weeks before gen con, but I went and just watched the costs...since then I have had temp jobs, and a cenus stint...but nothing real, and some way too close to min wage...so not this year...

In, for the second time ever (first was '03), assuming all goes well on the 2-week road trip I'm taking to get there.

This will be my first year at Gencon after going to Origins for 5 straight years (had to skip Origins to go to Gencon this year).

I have a 4 day badge and I'm really excited about it. Anybody recommend something in particular I should see? Saturday is mostly out, however, since I'm taking part in the 8 hour NSDM game.

The ENnies! ;)

Well, I volunteered to volunteer at the Enworld booth for the simple price of a plane ticket from Japan, but they did not take me up on it, so I am not coming.

I'm saddened by the fact that I spent most of last year living in Nagoya and that we never met. I spent most of the time not thinking about gaming (and not being on ENWorld), because I figured that I wouldn't be able to find a game over there. :.-(

I've never been, would like to go, but am not likely to go ever since I am now married.

Why in the world would that prevent you from going? I've been the last 4 years in a row and I've been married for all of that.

Unfortunately money is tight this year and so I'm giving it a miss. I hope to be back strong in '10! At least we did do a family road trip up the coast and got to visit some of the people we'd have seen there anyway.

Never have, doubt I ever will.

I am not a big fan (I've been to DunDraCon, KublaCon, one Origins, and a few others) of these huge conventions -- they feel overly crowded and just kinda bizarre. They remind of sporting events -- where I never feel at ease either.

I've been going to GenCon since it moved to Indy, and this year will be no different.

Of course, since I live about 7 miles from the Convention Center, it's more like a "staycation" for me.
