Are you buying a DDI subscription or not?

WoTC has anounced in Digital Insider #10, that pay subscriptions are now only days away. How many ENWorlders are actually planning on buying a subscription or not, and why?

Edit: Please do not attack or question other peoples reasons or opinions. Do not attempt to convince people they are wrong however different their opinion is from yours, or whether their reasons make sense to you or not. Their opinion is not wrong and your opinion is not wrong. Let's leave it that way, please.

However, humor and friendly ribbing are always welcome. ;-)

I'll get the cheaper version that gives me Dragon, but I won't pay for the deluxe version with the ability to play with others online...

No, not buying a DDI subscription.

I'm not switching to 4E so I don't need the character builder, or compendium - and I don't want to run games on line (so don't need the future aps; dungeon builder, virtual gametable, or character visualiser). As far as the tool programs they've added, they're nice, but nothing I haven't or can't find on line for free, and many of those are downloads I can copy to my computer.

So, the only parts of DDI I'd have any interest in is Dragon and Dungeon. IMO, Dragon has been okay, but it's nothing I would really miss if I didn't have it. On the other hand, Dungeon has been almost useless. It's only had one adventure that I felt was good (Ari's Last Breaths of Ashenford), and they still won't provide full page, high resolution, keyed and unkeyed maps and full page, high resolution artwork ready to be used as handouts. With these magazines being 100% digital products, there's no reason they can't provide these features. I know they have gotten a lot of feedback asking for this, on both WoTC forums and here, yet they won't provide them. So, I won't be buying a subscription. IMO, if they won't even attempt to give customers what they want during a free preview (meant to win over customers), why would they do it once they already have my money? At this time, it looks like me and WoTC will be seperating ways for good. It's OGL for me, from now on.

I'm in. I may cancel when the tools come in if they are late AND bad, but Dragon is worth it to me, it's the best it's been since 2e. Dungeon is crap, but it's been crap since 2e anyway so no loss to me.

I'm in -- conditionally.

I'll be sending a note to my group to see whether they want to go with 4e or nWoD when my current (3.5) campaign wraps. If they say 4e, then I'm in. That's still a couple months away, but I've got no problem paying for a couple of months without an immediate use.

I checked yes.

They haven't been quite as fast with their updates as I'd like, but the price is very low. Every time I think of a reason I might not, I remember, "Oh yeah, its really darn cheap so who cares."

That isn't to say that quality or consistency doesn't matter, or that as a consumer I don't want more for my money. Sure I do. But at the present price point I still think I'll feel my money was satisfactorily spent.

I will get the partial. I will get the full.

And then I will cancel. But is that months in the future, or years? Thats the real question.

The updated compendium and the ability to try out stuff like the barbarian months before release is a guarantee I'll put up some cash. I don't know if I'll go full subscription (as I don't need an online tool), but I'm definitely getting the dragon/dungeon subby.

Buying the digital content subscription based on the quality and usability so far, and will judge the full subscription when I've sampled some beta's of the products on offer.
