I don't use published modules so I don't need any more. More rules are fine but after a while there's only so much you can do. On the other hand I'm a mini addict ... which probably isn't a good thing because my wife got me a 3D printer as a gift a while back.

This is just my collection of character minis, so about half of all the minis I have.

Nice collection of miniatures. I cannot be bothered to paint mine.

Yeah this.

  • More origin feat
  • "Make your own origin"
  • Some more half feats (ehich dont scale horrible bad like charger)
  • Possibly alternative class features (like in 5e for ranger)
  • An actual simple caster
  • A complex martial which does not use basic attacks.
  • At lesst one unique class with its own subsystem not just complexity in spells.
How would you propose Wizards of the Coast make a Simple Caster and a more complex Martial? Would the complex Martial switch between fighting stances like in different martial arts?

First the martial:

In real martial arts stances do exist but thats more a movie thing overall. However, what you dont have in martial arts is "basic attacks". Each attack has a name and a purpose. So no basic attacks instead maneuvers.

This can be either like D&D 4e, eith at will, 1 per encounter and daily maneuvers. (With the narrative that encounter tricks only work once then enemies know the trick and wont fall for it, and daily are things which only work under specific circumstances, or take a toll on the body).

Or one could also go the 3.5 route with the book of 9 swords with having just per encounter maneuvers, in any of the 3 ways shown there (even the random order would be interesting).

For the simple caster: The D&D 4e essential sorcerer for me is still the prime example. You only have cantrips, but strong ones, get later 1 or 2 more, and have a way per short rest to empower the cantrips further (mire size/more targets and more damage + some other empowerments depending on subclass). Also being able to choose 1 element (subclass) whch grants differnt riders and some small passive effects.

Of course there could also be some other way to do it, but the warlock is not it (too many choices (some quite complex) and spells).

I never have enough miniatures, regardless of the fact I have more than I'll ever use. Won't be happy though until I have multiple copies of every monster in existence in my collection.
Yeah...I'm kinda same. Even though I'll probably never need them, I need to know that I have enough fire newts (or whatever) so that if I do decide that I need to create an entire village, I can do it. And I paint all my own miniatures and terrain, and refuse to put unpainted miniatures on the table, so it's a hobby that's been going for decades. But I like it - these days I listen to an actual play like Critical Role or Dimension 20 and paint away. It's a stress reliever.

It is, however, becoming a storage issue, so I am trying to taper off. I swear. That said, I'm currently painting up a batch of about 70 or so adventurers that I am finally getting around to from my Bones 6 order, and my Dungeon Dwellers KS just arrived two days ago...
