I've pre-ordered the Starter Set from my F(not-so)LGS. I've been playing 4e, I've played AD&D, 3e, 3.5/Pathfinder and others outside of the D&D family. I've enjoy them all, some more than others, I don't have a favourite. I'm looking forward to 5e to see where it stands but it's looking good. I find myself on the 'for' side of the contentious SW/SR/DoaM rules wars (because I know how they'll be handled reasonably in my group). This is strongly based on the fact that I really like the rules-light basic + modular + table-adjudicated design ethos. I was very pleasantly surprised that WotC tapped Kobold Press for the adventure designs and Trapdoor Tech for their online license. I think it shows a commitment to getting it right by bringing in partners with proven records / technical expertise. There isn't a lot of into on Trapdoor, but I know 1) THEY approached WotC with 2) the working technology they had already developed and deployed because 3) of their founder's a 35-year fan of D&D. It's the hallmark of a passion project and I can't wait to see what CN:M is going to be like. Unless the actual products are a complete 180 from what I'm seeing, it'll be quite a product and, I'll be happy to trek to pickup the rest of the books.
