If Swim speed is handled differently depending on your speed entry, then, I think, it will be the same with the Climb speed. Thanks for your help!

I've stumbled over this rules bit regarding encumbrance and its effects:

Like armor, a character’s load affects his or her maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, carries a check penalty (which works like an armor check penalty), reduces the character’s speed, and affects how fast the character can run.

Is then there a non-proficiency penalty for skills and attack rolls, too? Or is one considered to be proficient with the carried load? Or as the middle ground, does it only affect the non-proficiency side, if one uses armor or shields, with one isn't proficient with?
