Armor of Command ability

It doesn't stike you stupid that an item would give a CIRCUMSTANCE bonus to an attribute itself?

:D Hey, it stacks with a Cloak of Charisma and boosts my Divine Grace, Divine Might, and Divine Shield bonuses.

I can live with 'stupid' ;)

I'll never argue against the powergaming aspects. I have used it many times :D But it bothers me as a DM that this enchantment exsists and none exists for any other stats.

Charisma is the most broken stat, and shields are the most broken weapon.

It is strange to say, comming from a 2e background. That doesn't mean it isn't true. I think they started overcompensating.
 



So does that mean that a cleric with a 9 Cha has only 2 turn attempts per day, even with armour of command? What about the turn check? Would that be 1d20-1?

Basically, does the armour only provide bonuses to skill checks related to Cha or Cha ability checks?

That depends on book you are using. The Defenders of the Faith version would help the turning check, the A&EG wouldn't. A&EG doesn't say it replaces DotF, but that is the way I take it as they have the same name. Others disagree. There isn't anything to say which is official, or if they are different abilites.
 

A Turning Check is a Charisma Check.

The A&EG version wouldn't give you more turn attempts per day, but it will give you a bonus on Turn checks.

In fact, it will give a better bonus than the DotF version. +4 to Charisma gives you a +2 on your Turn checks. +4 to Charisma checks give you +4 on your Turn checks.
