Armor that gives DR X/bludgeoning

I seem to recall either an armor type or a special armor enhancement or something that gave DR X/bludgeonig, X/piercing, X/slashing....anyone know where I can find those?

Is this isn't kosher I understand, but could someone tell me what the X/bludgeoning armor does, and how to get it. I just thought of something for a new character and it would fit perfectly.

They're from Complete Warrior, they're +2 armor abilities and they provide DR 5 against one specific damage type. (Slashing, piercing or bludgeoning.) In order to get DR/bludgeoning you'd have to buy protection from both piercing and slashing, for a total +4 ability cost.

There's also various armor enhancements, like Axeblock (DR 5 / P or B), Hammerblock (DR 5 / P or S), and Spearblock (DR 5 / B or S).

The all cost +2, so for +4 you could have DR 5 / (S or B or P, your choice).

The MiniHB has shirts that offer this property for around 60kgp. It also lists shirts with DR 5/ for every other type (except epic) including alignment based. Personally, I think the most useful one is DR 5/silver, myself, moreso than even adamantine (which costs more).

DR is _really_ hard to balance IME. I've got a warlock in my game with DR 4 cold iron (due to fey heritage feats) at 4th level. It makes some of the fights very very easy (lots of small baddies) and helps not at all against others (draining undead).

For DR/- I'd say bonus squared * 2,000 is about right. For DR/slashing I'd go with bonus squared * 1,000 or so. Cold iron and silver might be 1,750*bonus squared.

So I'd say they are priced about right.
