Around Tillich

(( Ahhh, okay! Heheh Yeah, I wasn't sure. ^_^ Eh well, what I wrote still works I think. ))

The cat pushed her head forward to sniff gingerly at the stranger's hand. The girl turned her head to look at the cat a moment, and then looked back up at T'ahl. "Her name is Okena. She likes being scratched behind the ears and under her chin." She said, smiling up at him.

T'ahl let's a big smile wash over his face, he likes this little gnome - all relaxed, friendly, maybe even a little naive - just as he was - not very long ago - like last week, he chides himself! (((half-elf - about 17 human equiv)) He reaches out to scratch the cat behind the ears as he was told, "hello okena - aren't you just the prettiest thing...... and clever to - I can tell" The silver tabby purrs a little for him - he'd always been good with animals - though he'd never explored that facet of himself much.

"The uhmmm, oh yeah lanterns..... right ..... theres a merchant just down the road here who has many to choose from, you can't miss him" pointing the way "watch his prices though - he thinks they're worth more than they are with all this constuction going on".... he pauses in thought a moment "offer him half his asking price... you'll settle on about 2/3rds maybe - and that's probably fair!"

He stops his gentle scratching of the cats ears

"By the way ....... Not to pry or anything - but.... well if I might enquire.... what brings you to Tillech... not that many Gnomes I've seen around here so far...... well except for a few grizled old cojers helping with the architectual designs on the tower that is?"

Okena purrs and leans her head into T'ahl's hand, her eyes closing with a quite satisfied expression on her face. The girl turns her head in the direction T'ahl points for the lanterns, and then she turns back and smiles up at him.

"Thank you for the advice! I can haggle pretty good when I need to," she giggles.

"By the way ....... Not to pry or anything - but.... well if I might enquire.... what brings you to Tillech... not that many Gnomes I've seen around here so far...... well except for a few grizled old cojers helping with the architectual designs on the tower that is?" T'ahl asks.

She shrugs slightly, and the cat flexes her claws slightly to grip the gnome's shirt as she does so. The girl seems used to this and doesn't react to the claws pricking her skin.

"I walked out my door a few weeks ago and I've been going wherever my feet take me!" She grins. "I want to see more of this world them my little home town. I've been using my powers to work and earn money as I go."

She lifts her hand and casts a quick spell, and with a flick of her hand a light appears in front of her, dancing about merrily.

"You wouldn't have need for a sorceress, would ya?"

Off Season

T'ahl spends his off season making the long journey back to Childea (Argossea) to visit friends and family. Shopping for anything of real interest along the way he finds many of them - most he cannot afford - but they do well to wet his apetite for any and all types of magic. Any opportunities to increase his wealth with limited danger or risk will be fully exploited (weather small jobs or quests - or a little theivery). He will spend his journey living meagerly - and upon arrival in Argossea can stay for free at his parents (provided he puts in a little work around the farm). He will likely get into a little trouble with old aquaintances in Childea (the guild) but he's also a little wiser and and little more adept at handling himself - so the trouble is bound to be minor.

His new wealth is burning a hole in his young pocket - and will most likely be spent on any "really good deals" he finds - especially if they are magical in nature. We'll just have to wait and see what he finds.

As the new season draws near, he will make his way back to Tillech, in hopes of new adventure, meeting up with his adventuring companions, and any and all wealth he can get his hands on.

His first chance to test his mettle in battle after the long season of travel paid off well enough. Even if Leena and Sathisis handled the goblin captain without much assistance on his part - he felt stronger and faster through the small adventure. And with the exception of a few moments of rash and reckless actions (which he's sure he'll likely never lose) he felt a little more in tune with his skills and place in the party. His hair much longer now - like his Barbarian Fathers, and his face beginning to show signs of adulthood, his body has grown stronger and more lithe in the last year of adventuring.

Taking another fine haul on the last mission - adventuring is turning into a well paying vocation - but more than that - a fulfilling lifestyle. Upon return to Tillech he quickly goes about shopping for the tools needed to further this new trade. A masterwork composite bow should put a little more punch in his distance fighting, and a couple of masterwork daggers will better his ability to take advantage of foes that are foolish enough to turn their back on him. He rounds out his shopping with the purchase of a few potions of healing - after seeing their need first hand when Sathisis nearly fell. This leaves his purse quite light again - but a few gold still sit in it to pay his way when needed. And doubtless a game or two of chance (and a chance or two for games) with his nimble fingers will help to slowly fill it once more.

((T'ahl is level three now - and chose another level of Rogue to better his skills focusing on search, devices and locks, balance, and tumbling. He has also chosen Lightning reflexes as a feat - to go well with his new ability of evasion))
