There are more than is realized - you could have added your frustration to a couple other threads in Meta.

I wonder how many people haven't posted their problems, or just 'live with it'.
In addition, the new users who have very low post count probably would just give up if they had the problem, and noone would know about it.

Usually, when people report problems, I'd say a good rule of thumb is to multiply the # of reports by 5 or 10 to get the actual estimate of how many people are experiencing the problem and just not mentioning it.

There use to be quick way to fix it under User CP but the new boards don't list that option anymore. Clicking the box to save my password doesn't work either.
