[ART] Kalamar DM screen - what do YOU want?

Well, the secret's out that, yes, we do plan on making a Kingdoms of Kalamar DM screen (for later this year) similar to the HackMaster one.

My question is... what kind of scene do you want to see on it? I don't need to know about art or artists (we already have one lined up for the project), but rather, what types of characters would you like to see, and what should they be doing? Also, take the "flipping panels creates new scene" idea into consideration, because we may have those as well.

(If you're uncertain about how the flipping panels work, check out the HM shield 'clickable tour' on our website.)

Thanks!

Maybe you could somehow combine it with your image quest pictures, maybe a clear plastic envelope so the DM could insert the image quest picture. Or this may not be such a great idea. I love the war picture in your magazine adds also I like your picture of the gods standing over water.

Probably a picture of the different human races. I'm getting sick of hearing "which ones were the Fhokki again?" and "The Dejy are the black ones right?" And when playing in Kalamar it dosen't do them justice to say "3 humans are walking down the street".

Besides that I think a picture of some Fire Giants and Kalamarians assulting Irontop (that right?) would be grand. Whatever it is it should have some captions and it should be historically significant.

I'm glad to hear you guys are doing one for D&D that could be usable for 3E/d20. I love the HM shield. It is truly a great product. My test for that is if I see something and say "damn, I wish I had done that." Well, thats how I feel. Great work guys and glad to see you are continuing it.

How about Pictures of nude, sexy Elves ... no wait, that's for the GM side ;)

Ok jokes aside, I never cared too much about the pictures on the screen but it should be something that represent the setting.

So the various Races, Map's, etc. that make Kalamar unique to other Worlds and give a feeling for the Setting should be on the front side.

Have FUN!

I it is a good idea to put some clear plastic envelopes in front of it, so you can change if you don't like the art anymore.
And I think that a map can be very good, that way the art can be functional. It should of course be not of to much detail, since the players don't know that, but more like old maps of earth: not everything is certain, but there is a general idea of the map

Even though it IS a KoK screen, it would be wonderful if there were more generic d20 tables and charts than anything else. A whole flap or more could be KoK, but keep that near the back maybe??? I really like Omegium's idea for plastic pouches on the front of the screen to swap out art--it would save the screen from being taped and clipped a bunch--that's what I did to my old AD&D black screen. Now that I know you're doing a KoK screen, my purchase of the Hackmaster screen just might have to be put on hold indefinately. When might the KoK screen be coming out? This year perhaps?

I know you said you've already got an artist lined up, but I'd really like to see more art by Tom Martin. That dashing, sexy rogue always works up illustrations that just can't be topped.
