(Art) My character and shameless plug

First Post
Hi Everyone,

First post.

I've recently discovered the online gaming forums here and at RPGNet. I'm having a realy great time reading everyones posts and thought I'd introduce myself with a picture of Balshazar, one of my favorite AD&D characters.

And to point you to my MSN site which has more of my art (that's the shameless plug). With the help of a few new freinds I'm making the transition from hobbist to freelancer and have paid work in the pipeline. I know I have a long way to go but I'd welcome any comments constructive or otherwise.

Just had a look over your site. Very nice work. Your Salome is just wicked and I love your "Spontaneous Line Drawings" very nice fluid line work.

I'm curious as to the medium (or media) used for the color pieces. Some look painted, some almost look like extremely well post-worked 3d renders and others look like photo manipulations.

To go through them:-

Salome is a combination of airbrush and watercolour on paper. It took about 2 weeks but relies on the skills of the photographers whose work I used, the beauty of the D&G dress and the grace of two of the worlds highest paid supermodels who I used for the figure. It was done as a self promotion piece and its a style I'd like to persue but do not have a photo studio or models or designer dresses etc...

In Fantasy art
Dragon:- is mostly airbrush on paper. (some acrylic painting)
Storyboard:_ is acrylic
Vampslayer:- is watercolour
Dragard, Ah Dragard. This one was a bit special. One of my fellow gamers commisioned a large scale portrait (24"x36") in oils on canvas of a character he had generated in a game I designed. I worked on it over many months. The end product looks striking and the picture on the web does not do it justice.

Edge:- Is watercolour
Self :-is a photocopied drawing coloured with ink.

In "sketchbooks" (on the msn site)
Untitled-18 is a large painting 12"x16" painted on canvas paper in acrylic.
Untitled-16 is acrylic on paper.
untitled-12a is a photoshop coloured pencil scan.
Untitled-06 is byro.
robbies-immage's034 is watercolour on paper

The rest are painted.except for untitled-100 thats coloured pencil

Wow. That took ages. I've yet to take the plunge into Painter but often use Photoshop to clean images and everything I publish goes throught a cleanup.
