Can anyone recomend a decent art software that doesnt cost an arm & a leg or have a 6 month learning curve for doing relatively simple system art? I am currently looking to do Holy Symbol artwork for a new campaign world sourcebook and am currently using a combination of clipart, Word, Gimp, and Paint. I am making some passable holy symbols but not as robust I would like to make them. Any suggestions would be greatly appeciated.

Dogwaffle!!

Google Dogwaffle and see what you think. It's got a really great free demo download. It's a pretty easy interface. Your basic paint program +, very simple photoshop style interface.
