Got it today/yesterday and first impression is, I like it.

For an actual review check The Fourth Rail on Friday.

Also picked up Supreme Power #1, by JMS, but haven't read it yet. It did get a 9/10 though.

On a JMS note, I found out he apparently has issues with Top Cow, which is why Rising Stars is so bloody late (no I don't keep up with comic news).

p.s. if anyone has some detailed info on the Matrix comic/hardcover that's on the way would mind sharing?

edit: maybe more people will check the thread with Neil's name in the title.

I also enjoyed the 1st issue of 1602. Although I'll wait until I see more to really make a decision since this was mostly to get us comfterable witht he setting.

Well sure, you shouldn't judge the whole series by the first issue, but it's definitely promising so far.

I read Supreme Power #1, and that's something else you should pick up and read.

Simple explanation of the concept: Superman Rising Stars style. Literally take Supes, file off the serial numbers, and have the government raise him to be a 'good American.' I believe there will be other super powered indivuals, so it won't just focus on the one kid.

It's going to be a take on Squadron Supreme, a Marvel Version of the JLA from an alternate reality. They had a 12 issue limited Series where they decided the best way to save the world was to take it over. It was Kingdom Come before Kingdom Come was cool.

Well there you go, of course I may have known that had I read about it before hand. Not that it would mean much to me never having read Squadron Supreme.
