As Seen on TV: Back Relief Belt?

Okay, I saw this advertised today:

Back Relief Belt

Now, I'm not the type to buy anything from a TV commercial, but this actually looks like something I might want to try for my bad back.

Has anyone here ever tried this thing? What did you think - did it provide adequate relief, especially after sitting for long periods of time?

Can't say that I have ever seen it before, but pretty much it looks like adjustable lumbar support. That can be very good for someone with a bad back. The hot and cold packs are a nice bonus as well. I know some of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in had a really good lumbar support. If you buy it, tell us what you think!

This is my first week of self employment and I have to say I really missed the chair I had in my old office - the lumbar support was really good.

I definitely going to need a new chair for my home office - I wish I could have taken that one. :)

In the meantime, I think I probably will give this thing a try. I like that it's portable, so I can wear it to the opera and Yankee Stadium. I'll definitely report back. :)

Mom's got one of those back massager ones that you plug in. Can also be plugged into the car. It works pretty well for her back when it bothers her. I can't sit in her chair unless I move it, it's kinda in the way IMO.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried one of the kneeling chairs? I find those incredibly comfortable for my back. You would think they would be hard on your knees, but they aren't, especially if you get the ones with the memory foam.

I did try one of those once, and it wasn't bad, but I felt a little awkward in it. I also tried one of those giant rubber sitting balls which seemed like a good idea but was absolutely ridiculous in practice.

I guess I'm old fashioned - give me a chair with arm rests. :)
