ooc: I'm not sure Javelins will allow Ironwolf to injure her past DR, but I suppose he's low on options.

Holding his greatsword in his left hand, Ironwolf will move 20' away from Aglia (and preferably toward an area with a lower ceiling) as he draws his javelin. He then throws it at her. (Rolls to follow)

(OOC: Actually, Hulgyr has crazy strength. He may be able to injure her past DR on a javelin. I don't think Ironwolf can unless he gets lucky

EDIT: Oh wait, size Large javelins

DOUBLE EDIT: Oh wait, don't they turn down a size when he throws them?)

Yeah, that's the problem. So it's d6+4. Really, I don't see how a 19 strength can be considered *bad.* Not up to the task, yes, but not bad. Well, hope for a critical I guess...

Javelin (1d20+5=6, 1d6+4=6)

...and of course, with rolls like that stat's hardly matter.

*Ironwolf and Hulgyr both miss badly.*

*Aglaia's expression makes it clear that she would really rather not be fighting all alone so badly injured, and she seems to be considering fleeing, but she is heartened by the ranged incompetence of the party and decides to stick around for a while.*

"I'm very disappointed in all of you, I just want you to know that. This didn't have to lead to violence. Look, I'll prove to you that I don't want to kill anyone if I don't have to--do you doubt that I could kill you, Hulgyr, if I made four attacks against you? Or even one? But I'll be nice and end this for you in the only way that won't result in your death..."

*She chants a quick spell, and suddenly, everyone still standing feels very calm and serene. Of course, this serenity ends Hulgyr's rage, which drops him unconscious and stable.*

(OOC: Everyone failed their saves against Calm Emotions. Hulgyr is knocked out, unconscious and stable at -5. Ironwolf and Zaeryl are unable to take violent actions or do anything destructive for a short while)

"Why am I reminded of Michael..." Zaeryl gives a long sigh.

(OOC: Ironwolf's turn / can talk, interact, etc. Let me know if you plan to just wait out the 1 round / level duration and I'll fast-forward)

As the feeling of calm passes over Ironwolf, he is foribly lead to the conclusion that violence is not the answer to this problem. He draws another Javelin just in case, but gives peace a chance.

"All we want is an end to this affliction. Release the victims from its power, and we can all leave here in peace."

"Yes, the Affliction...In its early stages, it was very crude, wasn't it? It wasn't my idea, you know? Personally, I just wanted Lilitu's Tear, which I'll thank Hulgyr for providing me. I'm refining the process--I don't want the lower stages of the Affliction to go after people any more. It's rather horrid, isn't it? We perfected an Afflicted Breeder that should be a good replacement. As for those who have been Afflicted fully, it's too late for them--there is no cure, not even a Heal spell, short of Wish or Miracle level magic. Even if you ever find some of that, providing it for each person one by one seems infeasible...But you can still save the semi-Afflicted whom you freed. I left orders that they not be harmed, so they should be safe. All you need to do is apply a Remove Disease and a Remove Curse consecutively...Of course, if I have to kill you all here, I guess that won't happen for them...Honestly, it's my last resort. I was hoping you would all be reasonable people."

"If I had those spells prepared, which I can tell you in honesty I don't, I couldn't cast them anyway because it would break concentration on Calm Emotions."

"You'll just have to trust me that it works, but considering that the alternative is to let the Affliction progress, it's probably worth a shot, isn't it? I mean, worst case you only wasted a Remove Disease and a Remove Curse, and it's not like those have expensive components."

"Very well. I agree our priority must be to get the cure to the villagers, and that a continued battle would jeopardize this. What terms do you suggest? Or would you prefer I offer terms?"
