Hello,

I mainly want to know what the proper name for a bellydancer outfit would be... I did some googling for it but really found nothing...

So can anyone assist on this?

Well I went to google as well. First I tried 'belly dance gear' but that lead me to websites selling clothing associated with dancing of the belly or exotic variety.

So then I tried 'belly dance history'. That lead to lots of useful information but not the names of the clothing.

However, these two searches taken in context with each other gave me the idea that there is no single name for a belly dancer's outfit. Each item has a name, but it most likely isn't "danclebelleexotik" or whatever. The sash is probably called whatever the country calls a sash, along with finger cymbals, veils, harem pants, and whatever else you want to wear for a belly dancer outfit. I suggest reading a few of the history links to get an idea of what I mean.

crap, my ex wore these all the time and i forget the name, let me google

Bedleh. (Pronounced "BED luh".)

This is the actual suit they wear, made of bra, headpiece, and pants. You can add a sari over it, not sure if that is normally included in the term Bedleh.

Hope this helps

For reference I did a search on:

what did belly dancers wear historically

and I found numerous sites that gave the name.

Not a problem, always willing to at least try to help, and when I do it without putting my foot in my mouth even I am impressed, lol. If you need any more help let me know.
