A player in a campaign I am DMming for a spell has asked to research a new spell. Any suggestions on gold/xp price for this, as well as components?

'Iwould like to have researched and have a NEW
spell...
A "Greater Mending" style spell. _I was figuring 2nd
level. _I would call it "seemless". _I would mend
metallic items without seems.
(The reason: I want to keep a cut down silver mirror
in my bag, that I can put together and use this spell
to fix it.... _then cut it back down when done using.'
