Assistance with Eilistraee

Anyone who has access to FR material, Dieties and Demigods, Faith's and Pantheons, whatnot, I have a few questions.

What is the relationship between Eilistraee and Mystra?

I know they came together to create Quilea or whatnever the Drow Priestess in Skullport's name is.

I believe it was suggested in the FRCS (I don't know where though), that Eilistraee is over Portals (It's one of her domains). Can someone tell me why Mystra apointed her? Or, the reason Eilistraee is behind this? If it's in the FRCS, please point!

Also, it suggests in the FRCS that she's also allies with Selune. Any suggestions anywhere, as to why?

Well, Eilistraee's followers like to get all nekkid and dance around in the moonlight...and Selune *is* the moon, so they tend to get along.

if memory serves they are on good terms but there isnt a relationship per se.

As far as I know Elistraee isn't in charge of portals, that's Shaundakul's job.

Though because the big S was imprisoned for so long, it's possible Elistraee was a part-time portalkeeper...

While it doesn't say it anywhere specifically, one would guess that Elistraee and Mystra are on at least neutral terms, as they have nothing to fight over. Mystra's dislike for Kiaransalee (being a rival goddess of magic, specifically necromancy, which Mystra definately likes in the hands of Velsharoon, who owes her fealty) would probably lead her to work alongside Elistraee.

I think the elves feel free to give Elistraee a few portfolios that may "belong" to another "human god". They have their own love goddess, for instance, though I imagine Sune doesn't stay too far away from the elven realms of the Great Wheel. So Elistraee could very well the the "elven goddess" of portals.

Gods sometimes have associations that don't last long but produce a specific result. The "drow sister" is an example of such an association between Elistraee and Mystra. Of course, this may also be a sign of a longer-term association, and Mystra's new good alignment probably helps this matter somewhat.

As for Selune, she makes alliances with anyone she can. She knows Shar is more powerful than she is, so she needs the help of others to hold out. Selune probably has extensive dealings with just about every god of CG or NG alignment (including guys like Lathander, who likes to enter alliances because they're fun, not because he needs them much).

IIRC and take this with a a good piece of doubt.
Mystra needs a new mother for the unborn Quilue, the women Lich? was killed by hier husband, and an priestess of elistraee who was pregnant(with a dead baby) was the only/First or such replacement in range time etc.
So Quilue is the chosen of two godesses, and Mystra owns Elistraee one or more...

Well, dangit.

I have littel hints and setups that have linked Eilistraee's Clergy to Portal protection, or atleast, certain Portals. To introduce this information (since one of the PCs wants to go Investigate and Explore Portals), I dropped a book about the Clergy of Eilistraee in his lap.

Now that I'm doing the writeup for the book, I can't find any concievable information that would suggest Why she's doing it. Or why Eilistraee and Mystra are allies (As it says in the FRCS), other then Quilie.

Personally I think the main reason they are allied is because the High Priestess of Eilistraee is also a chosen of Mystrara. Pretty good reason to be allied right there.
