Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea

I hadn't heard of this but the overview has me sold on the project :)

How odd. It was just yesterday that I finished crating all the Christmas decorations, and as I was preparing to store, I bumped into all my crates of books. Well, I routinely read three books at the same time. One on the nightstand, one by the throne, and one in the car. Presently, there was none in the car, so I cracked open a crate and stumbled onto all my Moorcock books. I was thinking maybe I would re-read Corum or Hawkmoon (not Elric again, because I've re-read them so many times), and then I stumbled into my large White Wolf omnibus of The Eternal Champion. Having read only the first book of the series back around 1987 or so, I decided I should re-read it and the rest of them contained in the omnibus. I started just last night, and now I see Erekose has pledged his support to my AS&SH project. How odd, indeed. Cheers!

Good stuff, Jeff!: once you complete volume 1, you'll be primed for volume 2 (Von Bek), which contains _The Warhound and the World's Pain_---probably my favorite MM fantasy book (with my overall favorite MM book still being _Mother London_).

In the introduction, Moorcock says that he wrote the first draft of Eternal Champion when he was 17! It's actually a good introduction. He talks about how some writers, up on their high horses, tend to cite only the "classics" when asked what influenced their writing, while Moorcock is not ashamed to admit that pulp fiction, television shows, and comic books have all played a strong role in his development over the years.

Hello fellows,

Just a quick reminder: 3 days remain for our Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers Kickstarter Campaign. For folks who are interested in this boxed set RPG, please note that a "Copper Level" support pledge gets you the game (boxed set with manuals, map, dice, and character sheet), your name in the credits, and a complimentary PDF of the game.

For pledgers in the USA, free shipping also applies, and in other countries, the shipping charges are extremely low ($3 for Canada + Mexico; $5 elsewhere). Standard shipping rates will apply once the fundraiser is over. Thank you for your consideration!

Cheers,
Jeff T.
