Maybe you should hesitate more, Bronn--even though Daziel hasn't mentioned it, the fact that you cast your web even though we had agreed to attempt a parley with the Scarlet Flame hasn't been lost in my memory. That worked out well for you, didn't it? Another spellbook to add to your collection? Maybe Daziel should cast her evil-sensing spell on you? Anyway, the fact that I didn't immediately let fly a couple of arrows in the Lich's home may be the reason we are still standing. I can still recall how quickly Temuel, so recently released from his prison, was cut down because we rashly ran into battle. It's not taken me long to realize that we do much better if we are prepared for battle, rather than immediately taking up the fight when it presents itself. I realize that your spells are essential, but taking the time to learn a new one right now is dangerous and foolhardy. And I'm sure that you are not without weapons even if you don't learn this new spell. Just as I can resort to the blade if I break a string or Velm can take up the sword or cudgel if his axe fails, I see that you have abilities beyond this single, albeit powerful, spell. We argue over the most petty things, and I agree that voting is out of the question. I would rather convince you with words rather than impose some democratic majority on you. Do you really feel that our time is best spent sitting around for the next four days while you learn a single new spell? Especially if, as you say, the Zhentarim is not far away.
