What I used for my Aztec campaign:
„« The atlatl is a flat board with a handle or thong, designed for throwing javelins or darts. It is a martial weapon. A wielder of an atlatl can throw a javelin or dart twice as far, and increases the critical modifier of the weapon thrown to 20/x3. Some atlatl were designed with grooves to allow the projection of two weapons at once; a character must have the Rapid Shot feat to make use of this feature. A magical atlatl stacks its enhancement bonus with that of the projectile just as a bow does.
