Pathfinder 1E Gestalt Pathfinder Help.

Legend
So looks like I'm getting involved in a PF game online.

I don't think I've played PF since 2012ish.

The gestalt campaign one side is fixed. We have to be this class.

Rest of the group is fairly casual apparently.

Any advice on how to do it? I was leaning towards bard or sorcerer but the other players beat me to it.

I don't need to create a monster but don't want to accidently create a meh PCs. The stat array is approximately 17, 16. 14 14 12 10 iirc starting at level 1.

Technically we can use most things but I want to limit it to Ultimate Magic/Combat.

Well, you're essentially playing what seems like a ranger whose animal companion is a dragon and can cast sorcerer/wizard spells of levels 1-4. So really, the question is what you want to append to that.

The thing to remember with most gestalt combinations is that you don't get more actions in a round than you otherwise would. Having spells upon spells to choose from is great and all, but when the monsters are all killed within five rounds, your surfeit of riches is more like a forfeit of riches, because you can't find a way to use them all.

I'd say go for something that complements the strengths of the class in question. Given the focus that the class has on battle (again, full BAB) and its reliance on Charisma, paladin might serve you well, mostly because it has a lot of passive powers that won't eat up your actions and rely on the same ability score.

Leaning towards some healing and skills.

Paladin would be interesting perhaps. It also has a lack of feats so thinking about a small race mounted archer or lance.
