I am currently working on the background for my campaign's Apokolips/New Gods. These two races of Empyreans have been living on the Jupiter moons of Europa and Ganymede. The Europans have been standing guard over the Ganymeds for millennia trying to keep their evil in check.

The Ganymeds technology is kept limited by the Europans. The Ganymeds have access to basic energy weapons and War-Portal teleportation devices but the War-Portals are limited to about 300,000 miles. This only gives them enough range to stage attacks against Europa when the two moons are in close orbit to each other. All attempts to create space-faring vessels are destroyed by Europans strike teams to keep the Ganymeds contained.

The leaders of the two worlds are actually brothers with the older brother as the original King of the Empyreans. He was overthrown and contained to Ganymede when his princely brother learned of his plans to use his innate Empyreans abilities - primarily the Omega Force - to eventually conqueror the galaxy. The war lasted over a millennia with many Empyreans switching sides in the conflict before it was finally settled.

I plan on the PCs first encountering the Ganymeds. From the outside looking in it will appear as though the Ganymeds are a repressed society which is being kept imprisoned by the Europans. Everyone knows the noble heroes must stop the oppressors. :)

That is the basics of it anyway. :)

Empyreans ... borrow that from the CU? ;)

I assumed Darren's use of the term comes from The Divine Comedy. Its reference deals with the dwelling place of God and the blessed. Basically the Empyreans are those who dwell in Heaven. :)

As the Demo Game Coordinator, I'm getting a little worried about organizing games for Origins and Gencon, which I get done on the Think Tank, when April 2 (Origins) and April 6 (Gencon) are the deadlines.

With that in mind, if anyone is willing to run demo games on Green Ronins' behalf for either event, be prepared to go to the forum and PM me. More on the details when I can get on the forum and post the procedures for signing up.

Just clicked the link, and all I got was a "boards not available" comment. Went to the ATT link on the M&M home page, and got a message saying the boards in the process of being moved.

I'm guessing it probably won't be much longer before it's back up and running.

Yeah... it was up and running this morning and then around lunchtime I went to log in again and POOF!

no love...

I wonder if all the posts that I logged this morning will still show up? I also noticed some posts from yesterday so hopefully...

Regards,
Walt

I tend to use character artwork for inspiration. When I see a picture I like the character immediately springs into my mind. I have a very visual mindset - which, I guess, is the reason I enjoy superhero role-playing games the most. :)

Have you tried the "Freedom Force" PC game. Talk about inspiration.
