Attack of the Clones on Imax

Just saw Star Wars: Attack of the Clones on IMAx last night. Has anyone else seen this movie?

I would say at least 15 minutes were cut out of the stanrdard release of the movie. Most of the parts were from conversational sections though a lot of these were important parts of the storyline.

Anyone have any idea why this was done?

IMAX films can only be a maximum of 2 hours in length, something to do with the film spool size, I believe. That's why Attack of the Clones was edited, to get its running down to 2 hours.

That makes sense. Too bad they had to cut out almost all of the intelligent plot. You don't see Jar Jar or the Jedi Council manipulated by Palpatine.

They should have edited the crap acting between Amadalla and Anakin.

Maybe we'll see another Phantom Edit eh? I'd love to see this at the IMAX but... money is tight enough trying to keep up with the RPG stuff. Beserek 4 is coming out next week so no movie for me.
