Attacks of opportunity question.

If a spell caster begins casting a full round spell and an enemy moves into a threatening square afterward, does the enemy get an attack of opportunity against the spell caster?

No. You only provoke the AoO if the enemy is threatening you when you begin casting the spell. However, if he moves into a threatening position and successfully attacks you, you still must make a Concentration check or lose the spell.

Hannibal, just to clarify - a spell that has a casting time requiring a "full round action" means that casting the spell takes the whole round for the Wizard. You seem to be thinking that a "full round" is the same thing as a TURN - which would be the entire initiative sequence.

When a wizard casts a spell that is a full-round action to cast, all it means is that the only thing the wizard can do that round besides cast the spell is take a 5' step. The spell still finishes during the round the wizard began casting it.

Incorrect.

A spell that takes 1 full round to cast is a full-round action. It comes into effect just before the beginning of the character's turn in the round after the character began casting the spell. The character then acts normally after the spell is completed ...The interrupting event strikes during spellcasting if it comes between when the character starts and completes a spell (for a spell with a casting time of 1 full round or more)

I believe that it has been clarified that a spell cast spontaneously with metamagic, which has had its casting time extended from a standard action to a full-round action, is not subject to this.

It is the entire initiative sequence. You begin casting on your initiative and you finish just before your next turn in the following round.

Where are getting this idea? This is true for sorcerers or bards who spontaneously cast a 1-action spell with a metamagic feat, not for spells with a 1 round casting time.
