This is my challenge, to make the tentacles look tentacley but remian bound to the mug. Otherwise it si pretty much a shelf item

I'd say keeping the tentacles against the mug is good.
Is there any way to get some of the tentacled to act as the handle or wrap around the handle?

Clay, to answer your question in another thread, I believe it IS Illegal to use the Mind Flayer likeness and call it such; HOWEVER, I don't think it would be illegal if your depiction of Cthulhu (now a public domain figure) had four tentacles *wink wink nudge*
