So, I’m surprised this has not been mentioned yet. (Munch) Sweeney Todd is opening, this Friday I believe. (Chew) This is a movie version of Stephen Sondheim’s bloody musical, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. Which, really, is a kind of too-good-to-be-true deal. (Swallow)

Thanks, PirateCat, for the meat pie. God it was good.

By the way, has anyone seen Eric Noah? I mean, seen him since he went to get that hair cut…

I'll see it, though I hope Burton gets over using Johnny Depp as his alter ego "Vince". Depp looks like he'll fit the bill for the character quite well this time, but come on Tim, there are other actors out there.

Birth of the alter ego {That thin cat also shows up in burton's animations]

The Beetlejuice animation's Prince Vince

Character in Corpse Bride. Named Victor, though was refered to as Vince as an in joke.

Pretty women
Fascinating...
Sipping coffee,
Dancing... pretty women
Pretty women
Are a wonder.
Pretty women!

Sitting in the window or
Standing on the stair
Something in them cheers the air.

Pretty women
Silhouetted...
Stay within you,
Glancing... stay forever,
Breathing lightly...
Pretty women,
Pretty women!

Blowing out their candles or
Combing out their hair,
Even when they leave
They still are there.
They're there

Ah! Pretty women, at their mirrors,
In their gardens,
Letter-writing,
Flower-picking,
Weather-watching.
How they make a man sing!

Proof of heaven as you're living,
Pretty women! Yes, pretty women!
Here's to pretty women,
Pretty women,
Pretty women,
Pretty women

But at least they don't bump their own threads from the second page. :p ;)

Wonderful movie. The love song was not so hot, though ity was a great time to go for popcorn. Once the boy had a bloody lip, the song seemed to 'fit' the movie more.

It is also home to game possibilities (not the singing though - it would be a source of real horror to have most groups try to sing a broadway musical number, let alone one as complicated as a Sondheim number).

Namely, a minion goes to get a hair cut and never comes back. While looking for him, the party meets at a little meat pie shop...

A little too much of a musical for me. I know it sounds weird but that's how I felt. Still a good movie mind you. My mother on the other hand, loved it.
