I'm just curious as to why the name changed? Are the collections and the packs substantially different products? I like the counters, lets me avoid the high investment in time and money buying and painting minis, but the change in the product names confuses me a bit.

The name change is primarily due to the differences in size and "theme."

The Counter Collections have full, 8.5 x 11" counter sheets and booklet inserts with a varied assortment of monsters.

On the other hand, the Counter Packs are half the size (think of the mini-modules by FFG and AEG) and focus upon very specific themes -- i.e., "demons and devils" for the first one.

It's all still the same FDP counter goodness, just in, er, smaller and more focussed sizes.

Defintely. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out for the packs. The collections have been really useful so far and ive been waiting to expand my set.
