I chose Death, but Light comes in a close second. An AU Champion of Light is, in many ways, much cooler than your generic paladin. I know drawing the comparison is cliche, but I can't help it. I'm crazy for Paladins, and Champions are right up there in my book!

Personally while Champion are in some ways superior to Paladins, in 3.0...I think 3.5 paladins can be almost equal champions. But that's just me.

Powerwise, perhaps. But the Champion has so much more roleplay potential, and is so much more flexible, I favor the Champion.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with that at all. I'm just saying for people to compare the Paladin's abilites to that of a Champions...rather pointless. Like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm not disagreeing with you either. I think our combined position could be stated as:

1 - Class powers for the Champion and Paladin seem equal and are a matter of taste as to which is better.

2 - Champions are more flexible than Paladins both for RP and powers, which does have some strong appeal for many players/DMs.

I choose Death. Just because I've always wanted to play a tongue-in-cheek good guy champion of Death similar to Death from Discworld.
