Augment Healing and magic items

I've been trying to figure out if the augment healing feat from Complete Divine would work with spell completion items or even spell trigger items. I've been researching this on and off for a little while now as I have a player that has asked about it for wands, and now I am playing a cleric with the feat as well. So far we have made a house rule that says that it does work on wands and scrolls.

The feat works on conjuration (healing) spells that you cast, so I guess the question is does casting a spell from a scroll, wand, and/or staff (or any other item) count as casting the spell for the purposes of this feat?

Seeing as I haven't been able to find this question being asked anywhere else I'm guessing that it cannot be used for these items. I just want to make completely sure though so I thought I'd see if any of you know of any clear ruling on this. Maybe there is some rule about feats and magic items that I have over looked?

You don't cast a spell with a wand, you use a wand a spell trigger item, the magic is not in you but in the object, the same for staffs and all.
The sroll is a spell completion item.
Here the first sentence on the SRD:
Casting Spells

Whether a spell is arcane or divine, and whether a character prepares spells in advance or chooses them on the spot, casting a spell works the same way.

In addition to the above information, those items can be instilled with metamagic feats when creating the item. Normally, you are unable to use metamagic feats as part of the spell completion process because there is no way to pay the "cost" of the increased spell level when doing so. This is a game mechanic limitation. However, the "sudden" metamagic feats were designed to do exactly that, they are just limited in their number of uses per day. Fortunately, the Augment Healing feat is a reactive one not a preparation one. As that is the case, I would rule it as applying to spell completion items used by the feat holder using the item, not the creator.
