Augmenting a power. Can you manifest the power and augment later?

Just wondering if you can manifest a power and decide to augment it *later* if you have to . . . or, do you have to decide whether to augment when you manifest the original power.

I'm just thinking in such situations where perhaps the duration of a power can be extended through augmentation.

You can only augment the power as part of its manifestation, unless the power specifically mentions later augmenting as a possibility. See the top right of page 63 in the XPH under the augment heading for more info.
