"Aura Party" in Play

The shapeshifter I'm discussing in this thread has the Fiery Burst reserve feat... it was a way to get access to a certain amount of magic while shifted, since spell like abilities don't care about your shape. I use it for strafing. That'll be an ability which gets much better from 6th to 7th: Damage goes from 2d6 to 4d6, +2 DC, and aerial form gains flyby attack. (The difference is in part because there are 2nd and 4th level [fire] spells on the Druid list, but no 3rd level ones.)

I just started a Druid with Fiery Burst as well (we're only 3rd level to start), and it's been a huge help. I'll have to look through the spell compendium to see if I can find a 3rd level fire spell to memorize... only 2d6 up through 6th level would be sucky.

I also took Spontaneous Healer from Complete Divine, and the new Touch of Healing from Complete Champion, since I'm the only healer of the group. Spontaneous Healer lets me spontaneously cast healing like a Cleric a number of times per day equal to my Wisdom bonus (3 for me right now). So as long as I haven't used all of those spontaneous uses, I can use Touch of Healing with whatever my highest spell level is, since I have one "available". Means my 2nd level flaming sphere is doing double duty for my reserve feats, and that's good stuff.

It never occurred to me that the reserve feats work in wildshape... that'll be really handy during level 5 when I'm bemoaning the lack of Natural Spell.

A marshal would be an excellent addition to the party. We have one in our group now and the +4 damage when flanking, +5 movement, bonuses to saves etc have proved invaluable.

Working in the Society Mind (which is in Untapped Potential) would be good. Perhaps replacing the Divine Mind? (Both being psionic classes and all...)

With a Vexing Flanker in the party, I'm surprised no one is going Marshal. Master of Tactics gives Cha bonus to damage to any ally who's flanking, and Art of War gives Cha bonus to trips.

Those are both minor auras, so even a 1 level dip gives you access to one or the other.

This is my plan for the next campaign I run :) Might have an open spot for ya. Have yet to find a good healer class to add to the mix. There was a thread about this a few weeks back, great list of classes to use, tho I would modify it a bit.

Back to your regularly scheduled discussions.

Aw, that's an easy one. Standard Cleric, with that healing reserve feat from Complete Divine. Hell, Dragon Shaman does a pretty good job of healing at low levels, too.

And, hey, when's the open slot? I might be able to get in.

Currently, our group mage has fiery burst, and the cleric will be getting touch of healing asap. Should make dungeon slogs much easier...

I was actually trying to get away from all the core classes as well :) Slots will open up whenever somebody bribes me to TPK my current campaign :] Which I might add would take alot. Blarg still hasn't sent me that email about getting a Victoria ENWorlder gettogether going...

I don't think any of us actually has the book that the Marshal is in, which is probably why no one has considered it. :)
