Australia: Cheapest place to pre-order 4th ed books

I've ordered the gift set from Amazon. I was the last one in our group who was still buying from our FLGS - there's only one left in Canberra, and I was going to be a loyal customer and support it.

The difference between the Amazon price and local price for Races and Classes ended that for me. I didn't feel much like a "loyal customer"; more like a "mark".

Yeah for the OP in Brisvegas there are a few choices, along with Fastbreak (which is where the Living Campaign stuff is played) there is also Wicked Games in Strathpine (call 'em first 3881 3677) on the northside, and I know the Game Traders at North Lakes is considering carrying the books. If you are on the southside there is also the Ace Comics at Annerly (formerly Comic Warriors).

If you go to the Ace Comics web site you can ignore the prices there, I called the Annerly store and they have no clue about what they are charging yet, the website prices are based on the usual over inflation of US imports.

Anyone in Sydney with a line into Tin Soldier/Walrus & Carpenter? That should give us a better picture on what Australian stores are going to be charging.

I don't have up to date info as I no longer have my wholesale account and Jase doesn't work at W&C anymore. However, based on previous experience the AUD retail will be between 2 and 2.2 times the USD cover price (closer to 2 due to the good exchange rate is my guess). Added to the issues that WoTC / Hasbro Australia seems to have in getting shipments to W&C in time for the release date, Amazon seems like the best bet for any antipodean purchasers.

Actually, most places I've seen have the 4th ed books for around $40-$50(both Gamesparadise and milsims have the set for $120), that's hardly twice as much, that's like a $3 dollar hike per book, considering how much Aussie's usually get boned on game and book sales that's really good, it's only Amazon which makes it seem high, since they're much lower than most american FLGSs.

Just don't pre-order from the Penrith Tin Soldier, it could be months before they get the books.

Let me second that by saying "don't order from Tin Soldier at all, or believe anything they tell you." Go Amazon, or if you are feeling patriotic this ANZAC day, Mil Sims in Melbourne.

at times amazon will ship before the sell date so the product will be received the day the product goes on sale. This some times results in people getting the product a day or two before hand. I know it happens for video games.

I'm hoping that happens to me here in Japan from Amazon. I have gotten Complete books a week early.
