went to Critical Gaming (www.criticalgaming.com.au) and saw they are doing specials on the new DND Miniatures packs - 16 painted mins for only $28! :D

Has anyone got their hands on these yet? Are they good?!
Of course if you paid attention, you would also have read that they were PRE-ORDER specials.

So no, noone's got them yet.

Where are cythas and Critical?

I'm sure they'll be trolling along soon, eh?

And this would be different from Derek and TalonGames how?

I never saw this kind of response to his posts on the lead up to the release of 3.5ed, and on other things he has mentioned.

I for one am happy to read of things like this which I would not otherwise be aware of. Unlike the US, there are only a handful of distributors of RPG material (at least here in Sydney), and up until now there hasn't been much to differentiate between them.

If it doesn't interest you then just hit the 'Back' button on your browser.

Just had a look... Not sure how much these will go for in Melbourne, but if they are only one or two bucks cheaper, i'll stick with mindgames. I go right near there almost every day, I don't have to worry about treking to the postoffice if the postie can't be bothered to ring my bell, and i'm supporting my FLGS.

edit: oh yeah, and the link to the expansion pack takes me to the DL Age of Mortals book.

...

Even though you have a big gun :D , i'll give you two big differences:

First and foremost would be that Derek posts to other threads besides his own, and participates in topics besides threads discussing buying from his establishment. In short, he is a true member of the community, not just using the place for ad space.

Secondly, Derek doesn't seem to have two other users that seem to ONLY post to his advertisement threads...

That said, this doesn't necessarily mean that anything is "wrong" here.

Just somewhat trollish.

Hey Biggoblin,

In response to your posts I would like to point out a few things,

1) I run my own IT Consulting business as my full time occupation and thus do not have all day to spend on the boards.

2) I run Critical Gaming purely as a hobby and to give the Australian gamers a fair go along with trying to build an Australian RPG community. Which is why I do not charge the conventions to have a banner on my sites.

3) I do not need Critical Gaming to turn 1 cent of profit as I do it out of my love for gaming and frustration at the current stores and service in Sydney.

4) I do not have people trolling the boards and posting threads for me to generate business.

Everyone has their opinion along with having their right of reply. Well this is my right of reply and thus do not want to get into any slanging matches.

Other then that the prices I currently have for the miniatures are great aren't they. :) See I still keep my sense of humour whilst being attacked.

Olive, thanks for pointing that out. It has now been fixed. My programmer is not a gamer so gets confused with all the products from time to time.

Cheers,
Christian

P.S. Oh and BigGoblin if you live in Sydney drop by my store and have chat as I prefer to chat face to face then e-mail.
