On the cover of a new book.

For me it has to be Stephen Inniss, Roger Moore (whatever did happen to him?), John M. Maxstadt, Gregory W. Detwiler and Arthur Collins- all people who wrote great Dragon Articles.

I would have added Jonathan Richards, but he is still around even if I haven't seen his name on a book.

I remember Willie Walsh was here on the forums a few years ago and we were encouraging him to write new Dungeon adventures. His were among the very best.

He still pops up now and then. :)

I saw him in a thread a couple of months ago.

And I have to agree about Roger Moore, too- that guy wrote some great stuff!

Moore pops up on the Gygax Q&A thread. Apparently he is currently working on finishing a tournament adventure Gygax wrote and used way back. Now that i think about it, I'm not sure what game it's going to be for - with any luck, it'll be d20 or at least a dual-stat book. I also think there have been assertions that he and Gygax will work together again.

Joe Fugate.

Probably someone you have never heard of if you haven't played MegaTraveller, but he brought new life to the Traveller game and helped redefine the game, to include a task system that, to this day, I feel is one of the most robust and easy to use task systems in an RPG.
