Auto-linking 5E

Very small complaint, but the auto-linking of 5E to the new page is driving me nuts.

Maybe consider only auto-linking the first instance of 5E in any given post.

It also breaks typing 3.5e with the link going to an irrelevant page.

It's been bugging me, but I've been trying not to say anything or start any threads. Any way we can just make it "D&D Next" and leave "5e" open (to clear up posts for people who says "3.5e" or "4.5e")?

Yeah, I might remove the 5E. It didn't occur to me at the time that it would affect phrases which simply included those characters.

That'd be my preference, but it's not like keeping it would drive me away from this site. I love the moderation, the community, the layout, and the content. I'd subscribe if I had the money, and that's not true of anywhere else.

Even if you remove "5e" from the auto-link, you'd still have 5th Edition and D&D Next, which seems good enough to me. But that's just my view, and I'm more than happy to live with whatever preference you have. Thanks for taking input, though. I really, honestly appreciate it. As always, play what you like

I hope it's that simple. Hacking those things or finding some other kludge can be a huge pain, I'll bet. If that does work out, you might want to also add " D&D 5E ", " D&D5E " and " Fifth Edition " when you get the chance.

If it's plain text rather than some sort of pattern matching (regular expression or whatever), you'd run into issues with missing 5e at the start or end of a sentence.
