Avalanche to no longer be D20

Gee what a surprise.

The one company out there most likely to use nipples and other aim at teenage boys with no sex lives marketing is getting out of D20 due to the revision by WOTC.

Is anyone really surprised?

Will it really change anything for Avalanche? OGL or D20 the first thing that comes to mind when I see their product is I would have to bury it in my shelf if I bought it.

Who governs the OGL? Can someone come out and say, "HEY! You can't have nipples on OGL books!"
I think you wre joking but (just in case) No. The license forbids putting any conditions on Open Content beyond what the license says. It also states that you can use any version of the license you see fit. Thus WotC, who owns the OGL, cannot change the license effectively since the license allows us to use the current license in perpetuity.

Also, Avalanche write historical supplements. These might run afoul of the various restrictions on showing real world orgs in a poor light.

What, they're going to just straight up pornos, no game content?

Before people go Avalanche-bashing, let's straighten one thing: They've gotten pretty good reviews from those who have examined their product content. Beyond "skin-friendly" covers, they produce some pretty sharp history-based supplements, apparently. The funny thing is, their covers don't violate the WotC guidelines as written; it seems there are issues of either content or integrity, not artwork, going on here.
