Safe to say that the Disney version is a lot more jaunty
and am I the only one who would have preferred Ultrons voice to be more metallic/machiney
Well, we have the issue that we already have a machine voice in Jarvis (who may well be the template for Ultron), and he's nice and smooth. Him having what the audience would perceive as a "less advanced" voice would be a tad jarring - yes you can say that Ultron *chooses* to have such a voice, to differentiate himself from us soft-bodies, But that requires in-show exposition, and really, do we want them spending time on that exposition?
Also, if the trailer is any gauge, it looks like Ultron may go through several "upgrades" over the course of the movie - so maybe he starts machiney, and becomes more human sounding as the film goes on - that would be in line with the Pinocchio reference.
Somehow, I think the Avengers will end up wishing he was more "The Velveteen Rabbit", but tough on them.

I can't say whether or not you would be the only one, but I was pleasantly surprised to not hear a metallic/machine voice. It gives for a lot more subtly in the acting IMO.

The original is jaunty, yes. Note that since Disney owns Marvel, technically this is a Disney version too
I mean, I am not sure if they simply digitally altered the original - processing can slow down the tempo while preserving the pitch.
