AV's thread: Reverse-engineer D20 Modern for D&D?

I'd be very interesting in trying to adapt d20 modern rules into my new D&D campaign... if done properly. Now as to whether these rules should be incorporated into the book itself or as a PDF supplement, either works fine for me.

We'll all have to just agree to agree then.

This conversion seems greatly suited to Dragon magazine or to a web-enhancement. Make it so...

A PDF is fine; or, they could put together a grim and gritty medieval fantasy book incorporating the rules from d20 Modern. It would include guidelines for converting DnD settings and adventures. Something to consider.

Definitely not in the core rulebook. Polyhedron or a web enhancement. Actually, I think a web enhancement might be best for convincing D&D players to buy d20 Modern since I think more people would have access to it than those who buy Dungeon/Polyhedron.

"Think of big bodyguard types, Odd Job from James Bond. On the enemies side think of Michael Meyers from Friday the 13th. Imagine a character with damage reduction (mmmm....)."

Jason Voorhees wore the Hockey Mask not the catatonic Myers...

Sorry some things bug me and horror movies are my bag esp ones I was named after.

Yes, I'd like to see a conversion of the rules to D&D made. No, putting it in the core d20 Modern book does not sound like the best idea.

A magazine article or web page sounds reasonable, but...

Perhaps they could publish a whole book of possible variant rules for D&D. They could include the d20 Modern ones, and other ideas the designers had while hashing out the core rules. One that were removed because they weren't "D&D canon" or some such reason.

It probably doesn't fit their business model, as I heard it, but it would be cool!

Voting for .pdf, not core book, and NOT in a magazine. I don't get enough out of the mags to buy them regularly, and as someone (sort of) said, if I'm already buying the core books for D&D and Modern, I should be able to download a conversion guide without subscribing to a Mag in hopes of catching the one issue I need.

[Bad spelling is...bad]
